Brooke Wade: When I first started film school, I knew one thing for sure. I was going to make straightforward narrative films. I was dead set on being a mainstream filmmaker. I wanted to be this big Hollywood hotshot. After my first semester in film school, I was hooked on experimental filmmaking which you may know is the opposite of mainstream. I took every experimental film class I could get my hands on in film school and fell more in love with it every day. I’m an artist that loves to work in the experimental genre. The stranger the better I always say. I love combining darker themes into my work as I am a lover of horror and thriller films. I am also known to work on some lighter themes as well. I’m extremely passionate about creating strange and unsettling sound designs. I love the challenge of making the audience use their imagination and create their own narrative within my sound designs. Even though I lean more toward creating experimental work I am always open to getting out of my comfort zone and creating something different.
